When it comes to building websites, I understand most things, but WordPress privacy compliance is confusing and frustrating. As such, I’m always looking for a solution that keeps me legally sound and has great usability. This is why I’m excited to run a full WPLP Compliance Platform review, as it could offer a near-ideal solution for setting up legal pages on your site.
Let’s get straight into the details!
WPLP Compliance Platform Review: Fast Facts
- WPLP Compliance Platform combines legal document generation with cookie consent management in a single WordPress solution.
- The platform serves nearly one million websites with over 20 attorney-crafted legal templates and automated compliance tools.
- The developer – WPeka – has 15 years of WordPress ecosystem experience and maintains consistent, near five-star ratings.
- Functionality such as Google Consent Mode v2 support and IAB TCF 2.2 compliance can help you set up future-ready privacy management.
WPLP Compliance Platform Review: Pricing

WPLP’s pricing uses a freemium model with two premium tiers that I had to do a second take over because of how cost-effective they are:
- Professional. For $48 per year you have over 20 legal templates to use across three websites. This tier includes 50 monthly cookie scans, 100,000 page views per month, and 10,000 page scans.
- Business. At $72 per year, this gives you support for up to ten websites. You also have an unrestricted number of page views and cookie scans with up to 20,000 pages per scan.
Each plan provides the same core functionality and customer support. I’ll talk about what you get in the package later on. The Professional tier will suit small businesses and freelancers managing limited client portfolios. As you’d expect, Business this is the plan for agencies and growing businesses that need comprehensive compliance across multiple properties.
You can also find a Lite plan, which is free. This gives you essential compliance features for one site: four legal templates, limited cookie scanning for 100 pages, and support for 20,000 monthly page views. This is going to work for individual bloggers and small personal sites in my opinion.
WPLP Compliance Platform Review: The Main Functionality
WPLP Compliance Platform builds around comprehensive legal and technical integration. The platform combines attorney-crafted legal templates with automated cookie management to hand you a complete privacy compliance solution.

For instance, the legal document generation system includes over 20 attorney-crafted templates that includes the following:
- Privacy Policies
- Terms of Use
- Cookie Policies
- Affiliate Disclosures
- DMCA Notices
- Refund Policies
You can also find templates for specialized documents such as End User License Agreements and ‘Impressum’ pages, which are ownership documents. Each template can adapt to your specific business practices through guided questionnaires:

This is (in part) thanks to a smart tag system that propagates your business information across every document you generate. Eliminating this manual data entry means you can reduce inconsistencies and errors, keep accuracy high, and save lots of time.
You can also find cookie consent management functionality that includes customizable banners with multiple display options. There’s automatic cookie scanning and categorization, script blocking for third-party services, and detailed consent logging with timestamps and IP addresses.
Away from basic compliance, you’ll also find deeper ways to address enterprise-level requirements:
- Geo-targeting capabilities let you displaying region-specific compliance notices based on user IP addresses.
- Data Subject Access Request handling includes built-in forms with automated workflows and audit trails.
- Google Consent Mode v2 support will ensure compatibility with modern advertising and analytics requirements.
- IAB TCF 2.2 integration provides compliance for advertising technology and programmatic advertising networks.
All of this connects through a compliance dashboard that provides real-time monitoring across your sites complete with visual progress indicators and integrated checklists. I’ll have more to say on this later, once we get into using the WPLP Compliance Platform.
WPLP Compliance Platform Review: Who the Plugin Is For
Practically every website is going to want privacy compliance given the legal requirements. However, WPLP Compliance Platform targets issues specific to WordPress for sites that need comprehensive privacy compliance without legal expertise.
I often find compliance tools focus on the individual components, such as cookie banners or policy templates. In contrast, WPLP addresses the complete compliance workflow. This means you can ensure your WordPress admin panel, WooCommerce checkout process, user registration forms, and more all operate within the proper privacy frameworks.
Essentially, if your site handles user data and can’t afford compliance mistakes, you’ll want to consider WPLP:
- If you’re a content creator, you can gain FTC-compliant affiliate disclosure templates and privacy policies that address monetization requirements.
- For an e-commerce site, you’ll benefit from comprehensive WooCommerce integration with automatic cookie scanning and checkout compliance.
- Even digital agencies can deliver professional compliance across multiple client websites without developing internal legal expertise.
For a small business, the WPLP Compliance Platform is great for maintaining privacy compliance across multiple regulations. You can focus on the growth of your business instead of legal documentation and compliance standards.
WPLP Compliance Platform Review: Installation and Setup
The installation process is typical for WordPress, although if you register for free on the plugin’s website, you’ll notice that there are two plugins that combine to create the whole: WP Legal Pages’ core plugin and the WP Cookie Consent plugin:

However, you can obtain everything within that package through downloading the Privacy Policy Generator free plugin…

…then clicking the Connect your existing account link on the WP Legal Pages > Dashboard screen:

It took me a while understand the best course of action. I could see how someone might download the free plugin and wonder how their premium account connects. This isn’t an absolute dealbreaker, but definitely could do with some streamlining.
Creating Pages and Using Templates
Eventually, you’ll see the main plugin dashboard: the WPLP documentation does a good job of walking you through the process of creating pages. The simple process for this is to click the Create Page button and run though the setup wizard.
The wizard takes you through four steps. The first is to choose a template: a standard privacy policy likely should be your first task:

This wizard walks you through adding essential business information and setting your data sections, at which point it will generate your privacy policty (or whatever legal page you require):

That’s practically everything you need to get the most use out of the plugin. However, you could head to the dedicated Settings page to tweak how your legal pages display:

These provide you with some quick ways to enhance the user experience and transparency. For instance, you can enable a Block to display your legal pages, set up an affiliate disclosure notification, and much more.
WPLP Compliance Platform Review: Support and Documentation Quality
My first port of call is typically to look at how you can ‘self-serve’ your own help. The WPLP Compliance Platform documentation is in line with many other WordPress plugins and themes. Most of the entries relate to installation and why you’d need compliance.

This isn’t ideal given that most users will already know why they need compliance, will have bought (or will be using) the plugin, and could be reasonably expected to be able to install it.
I’d like to see more on setting up the plugin and deeper information on what settings will do. Still, the documentation itself is easy to read and navigate, which is always key.
When it comes to direct support, you submit a ticket through the main website’s contact form. I have no understanding of turnaround times as there’s nothing to indicate the level of support you’ll get. Even so, it’s good to see accessing that support is simple.

It’s worth noting that there’s also a dedicated contact page for issues relating to Google Consent Mode. The reasons for having a separate support form are beyond the scope of this post, but I’m glad there’s some recognition from the developers about this. It shows a level of care and attention to detail.
WPLP Compliance Platform Review: Real User Reviews and Public Ratings
As always, looking at ratings and reviews from real-world users can give you excellent insight into how the day-to-day usage of any product. The WPLP Compliance Platform has a 4.7 star rating (out of five) on WordPress.org, and only one single-star review within the past five years.

This alone is an amazing achievement, as over 90 percent of users rate the plugin highly:
“…[The developers]…keep it updated and I never have to worry about any compliance issues…” – abdulaliyy
There are plenty of users giving great reviews on Trustpilot too, although I don’t want to judge the rating because there are so few reviews. It’s better in this case to read the individual reviews to see what users think:
“…WP Legal Pages has allowed me to maintain our compliance with the ever-changing legal environment without any stress…” – Michael Hutchinson
Even so, Trustpilot doesn’t have any ratings lower than a four out of five stars, which is arguably a perfect scenario for any developer.
My Final Thoughts on the WPLP Compliance Platform
Privacy compliance is a near-essential for any WordPress website. The WPLP Compliance Platform is one of a number of solutions available for this, but is arguably the only one that has the blend of cost, usability, and functionality to appeal to most users.
I’ll admit, this wasn’t on my watch list before writing this post. However, it’s now one I might consider over my current solution. It could be the same for you too!
